●Kristin Anderson
As a multidisciplinary conceptual artist, communication of the underlying concept is of primary importance, and media, space and presentation are selected exclusively per project. My works create an oscillation between the role of the image and the role of the viewer. The intention is to make the viewer aware of their thoughts on the subject, and of their reaction to the awareness, ideally putting them in a state of mind to contemplate both. Sometimes I use novelty to attract the viewer and then draw them into a deeper experience and message. New technologies easily provide that novelty. Recurring themes include the formation of and awareness of identity, broader human universals, and my personal epiphanies as I try to understand and negotiate the specific physical, familial, societal and spiritual influences which encase my life on earth.
